The Ukrainian travel passport in Denmark: how to get or renew one

Visits are strictly by prior online appointment through the e-Consul system: e-consul.gov.ua. Without a booking you cannot come.

You log in with Diia.Signature, BankID or an electronic signature.

This is the step where visits most often fall apart. Men of call-up age must update their data in Reserve+ and then generate an e-VOD in their personal account — the military registration document, an extract from the Oberih register.

It has to be done no earlier than 3 days before the visit. Without the e-VOD the consular service will not be provided.

Turning up with an incomplete set is pointless — you will be sent away. You need originals and copies.

One of the parents submits the documents. Besides the child’s papers you need the parents’: the passports of both parents (if they exist) and the Opholdstilladelse of the parent who submits.

Whether the child must come depends on age — and this is the detail that makes people drag small children across the country for nothing.

The fees depend on age, and for a child there is only one.

a passport for someone under 16 is valid 4 years, from 16 it is 10 years

Here the only Danish authority in this whole guide appears. A loss must be reported to the Danish police and to the consular section.

Get the certificate from the police — it carries the number P650-031. Without it a replacement passport will not be issued.

After that the embassy itself notifies the Ukrainian border service and Interpol so that the old passport is declared invalid.
